services at festivals

We really enjoy celebrating Festivals in Little Horkesley!

CHRISTMAS

Advent and Christmas are always special in a rural village, and we go to town!
We begin on Advent Sunday with our Advent Carol Service. We have a Carols by Candlelight at 6:30pm one Sunday evening; there's a Crib Service on Christmas Eve; also on Christmas Eve there will be Midnight Mass; and Christmas Communion at 11.00am on Christmas Day itself.

LENT AND EASTER

Lent Starts on Ash Wednesday, when there may be a special service of Holy Communion.
Mothering Sunday is an opportunity for everyone to gather to say 'thank you' to mums everywhere with a gift of a posy of flowers; and Palm Sunday includes the gift of a Palm Cross.

There are also services in Holy week - Holy Communion in Wormingford on Maundy Thursday; the Last Hour at the Cross here on Good Friday and an Easter Vigil service on Holy Saturday in Mount Bures. Holy Communion is a must for every Christian on Easter Day, and there's a special Holy Communion on Ascension Day here or in Wormingford.

HARVEST

Harvest is important to all rural Churches, and we make the most of the occasion; we present gifts during our Family Service which are donated to local Charities which serve those who are homeless or in financial need.
