sunday services

We have services at 11am and 6:30pm each Sunday, each lasting about an hour, plus a short early service once each month. There is a pattern for the various kinds of services during the month, as follows:

8am Holy Communion

A short service from the Book of Common Prayer - start the week with a time or prayerful reflection.

11am Morning Service

This service with prayers, a sermon, and hymns accompanied by our Choir and organ, is in the form of Matins from the Book of Common Prayer.  Many appreciate the opportunity to worship in this traditional style, and we are pleased to offer this opportunity.

6:30pm Evensong

This is our most popular service of the week, also following a traditional form, with a robed choir and an opportunity for reflection on God's Word.

11am Family Service

A service in informal style, designed to be welcoming and accessible to people of all ages and of any religious or spiritual background - or none! Join us to  celebrate God's goodness. Each family Service is unique, and often follows the theme of the day - such as at Harvest or Mothering Sunday - and we even meet outside in the Village once a year in the Spring to celebrate Rogation-tide! Come along, and also enjoy refreshments afterwards.

6:30pm Evensong

7:30pm Holy Communion

On this Sunday of the month, Evensong is followed by a said, shortened form of Holy Communion, lasting around half an hour.

11am Parish Holy Communion

In this popular service, the staple diet of every Christian, we commemorate Jesus' life, death and resurrection, also with hymns and a sermon.

6:30pm Evensong

This may be a special form of service, shared with other Churches in the Benefice, and may be in Little Horkesley, Wormingford or Mount Bures.
